Machinarium is an award-winning point-and-click adventure game set in a surreal robotic world, developed by famous Czech studio Amanita Design.

After vicious gang members kidnap his girlfriend and throw him into the garbage dump, our robot protagonist makes his way back into the city to punish his offenders and rescue his beloved. As this journey unfolds, we interact with the environment, talk to NPCs, find useful items and solve puzzles to progress the story.

The developers are famous for creating games with unique atmospheres that allow bizarre fantasies to come to life and provide players with grotesque surreal experiences – and Machinarium is no exception. The visuals, the sounds, the music, and even the gameplay serve the purpose of evoking rich aesthetic feelings, rather than entertaining in a usual gaming sense. Aside from being astonishingly beautiful, Machinarium offers a decent story with bright characters and a dramatic plot that kept me intrigued till the very end.

If you are a fan of point-and-click adventures, or value high-quality games in general, then be sure to grab Machinarium for its $4.99 upfront premium price – or download the free Android demo that includes the first couple of levels. In either case, you won't be disappointed.
